Your instructor

As the main instructor, I have really enjoyed teaching this material. I'm a partner in a solicitors firm, and I have also practiced in almost all of the areas covered by the SQE 1 curriculum, both as a barrister in court and also as a partner in a solicitors firm. So I bring to bear a practical angle to the subject material, which I think elevates this course beyond just an academic level, and I make it easier for you to understand the content and pass the SQE 1 exam first time.

Who is this course for?

Anyone who is going to be taking the SQE 1 exam!

There are 4 kinds of people for whom our SQE 1 preparation course will be particularly useful:

✅ Non-law students:
Firstly, if you are new to the law - you have done a non-law degree - and you are looking to start a career in law and begin by passing the SQE 1 exam, then this will be perfect for you. It will give you what you need to achieve that purpose, and it does not stop you from reading more broadly for academic interest, before or after the SQE 1 exam, or from picking up further knowledge as part of your 2 years of qualifying work experience. Personally, I have found that learning on the job has been the best approach in my legal career. I started out working for the Free Representation Unit while I studied law.

✅ Law students:
The second kind of person who really benefits from the course, is if you have been on a law course or degree and you are now looking to pass the SQE 1 exam and just focus in only on what you need to know for the exam, leaving aside all of the broader other material that you may have studied. This way you avoid getting lost in the realms of other knowledge and text books from an undergraduate or Masters degree, a lot of which is not going to be focussed on what you need to know for the SQE 1 exam. So if you have studied law, or you are now studying law, and you now just want to focus in on passing the SQE 1 exam, then this is perfect for you.

Those disappointed by other SQE preparation courses:
The third kind of person who this course really helps is if you have already done another SQE course which is not as focused as ours, and which does not set out the material in an intuitive visual way, like we do, and you are now looking to do some intensive revision and prepare for the exam in a more focused way than is offered by the other providers.

✅ Foreign lawyers (the SQE is the new QLTS):
The last kind of person who really benefits from this course is if you are a foreign lawyer (a non-UK lawyer) and you are looking to transfer to a UK qualification through taking the SQE exam. SQE replaces the old QLTS and this course ideally suited for that purpose.

Why have we produced this course?

The reason we produced this SQE 1 preparation course is because many people told us the other courses:

- have lots of unnecessary material, you don't need for the exam;
- there are not enough practice SQE 1 exam questions;
- the study materials are dry and boring;
- It is unclear exactly what you have to learn to pass the exam;
